We started out with a fire
A deep seeded burning desire
And all the feelings it inspired

But you were worried that the embers would burn
Until nothing but the ash remained
So you made another lesson to learn
In the end you just ran away

So this, is how, we die
With denial, a lie, and one last goodbye
So this, is how, it ends

We started out with a purpose
So fueled by promises
Now I wonder, was it worth it?
Can we come back from this?
Will it turn into something
We're content in living with?
