Because you make me feel alive
Every time you're on my mind
I can't tell you "I miss you"

No, I can't say that I'll love you
As each new day passes by
Or that all we have is time
I can't tell you "I love you"
Just because it might feel right
I can't say that can I love you
But, I'd sure like to try
I'm glad to see you're still
I'm glad to see you're still writing,
your words flowing page by page
It's been a while since I've been around,
roughly 400 and some odd days
I hope that life has done you well,
that things have been okay
And even if things have gotten rough,
I'm glad you found your way.

What life tends to be
Ups go down and downs repeat
Though not as often as I'd like
I find some fleeting moments to write
Though few and farther in between
Than what I wish my time could be
It's nice to see you back again
Hope soon to see new rhymes begin

I was all ready to just get all rhymy about it.
Then I got stumped.
Opened my mouth
My throat just clunked.
I tried again, to make it all work
My fingers stopped as we were aware
of the rhyming
a little off key
Thats when we remembered
That part of me
in the off beat
