I Said Goodbye Today

Folder:
Remnants

I held onto a fractured dream
No tethers to mend the shattered seams
I gripped each fragment til my fingers bled
Remembering every word you said
And I let myself waste away in memories
That were nothing but lies of you and me

I said goodbye today
To all the remnants that remained
I left what we used to be, behind
I found myself in another life
So, as the shadow faded away
I said goodbye today

"gripped each fragment till

"gripped each fragment till my fingers bled"...you've hit something like gold with this one. I love the rhythm and rawness, I'm glad I could be along for the ride.

As am I

Glad you had the time. And more so that you enjoyed it so much. Everyone managed to bump me to #1 on today's most popular. I've hit a milestone on this poetic road. Many thanks for that :)

Maybe

One day. Glad you liked it. I think I may continue it into a full song.
