If You Were Mine

Folder:
When Hearts Speak

If you were mine,

Love could be so sublime.

We could spend hours just talking,

Holding hands on the beach walking,

I'd do anything to make you smile,

Make it all worthwhile,

Love you forever, rain or shine,

If you were mine.

Honey, if you only knew

How many times I've longed for you.

Just to touch your face,

Feel your warm embrace,

Ease the pain that you're been through,

Always be there for you.

If you were mine,

If you would give me a sign,

I'd give you all the love I have to give,

Cherish you each day that I live,

Gently kiss away each tear.

I'd love you more with every year.

My love would stand the test of time,

If you were mine.

Don't you know how wonderful you are?

Can't you feel me loving you from afar

My heart aches with so much love.

Honey, you're all that I dream of,

But, if our love can never be,

Your happiness means everything to me.

If only you were mine,

If life would be so kind,

If dreams do come true,

I'd spend a lifetime just loving you,

But life isn't always fair,

And you may find a love out there.

I pray that her love lets you shine,

As I would do, if you were mine.

If I only had the chance,

Sweetheart, I'd show you a forever romance.

Together, we'd be lovers and friends.

You would never be lonely again.

I'd treasure the light within your eyes,

Shower you with breathless sighs.

Oh baby, if you were mine,

If we could only cross that line,

Let me know that you feel this too,

Let me show all that I feel for you.

I promise you a love so tender,

Give you all of me in sweet surrender.

A truer love you'd never find,

If only you were mine.

Ravenne,

This is an intricately carved artwork, and I'm sure you put your heart into it.

It almost reads like a song, it has that rythmic cadence.

You portray a soul aching with longing and unrequited love, willing to lose herself in another for the sake of love. You've succeeded almost too well, methinks. I would be frightened off if I sensed that someone wanted me as bad as the "I" wants "you" in this piece.

Sincere regards,

Ken
