Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Scribbles on Life

The dragon breathes fire from nostrils flared,

His gleaming eyes glowing with blood red tears.

The hapless citizens sit paralyzed and scared,

As steam bellows copiously from his pointed ears.

Chaos reigns, as the scaly beast lumbers heavily,

Trampling the foolish that fail to step aside.

The gigantic creature slithers forward steadily,

Shooting flames scorching those who will not hide.

Tick tock, Tick Tock

A wizard gazes into his magical mirror,

His wizened brow arched in wry amusement.

As the sun dips lower, the time draws nearer

To end the rampage of tyrannical torment.

The damsel bravely attempts to keep her composure,

As she shrinks from the dragon’s putrid breath,

But as the monster leans agonizingly closer

She gags and vainly prays for death.

Tick tock, Tick Tock.

The wizard’s wand waves and a bell peals loudly,

Followed by joyous cheers, as the chains unlock.

The dragon growls, “Get me a cup of coffee!”

She answers, “Get it yourself! It’s five ‘o clock!!

Tick tock, Tick tock. Tick tock.
