Mount Rushmore
Gutzon Borglum and four hundred other talented people carved Mount Rushmore.
They began in 1927 and finished fourteen years later during the second World War.
This Presidential Memorial is truly a great work of art.
It has touched millions of people's hearts.
They carved the heads of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln too.
Carving these sculptures was a brilliant thing to do.
They chose to carve four of our best presidents.
It makes me proud to be an American when I look at this monument.
