The Dark

Today or tonight I cannot tell,

For black is the night,

That is now brighter than day,

And cold is the earth,

Lifeless and decayed,

What lives roams alone,

What dies goes free,

It is always so cold,

In this world so bleak,

Once in a while a blue bird will sing,

It is always so sweet,

Yet short,

Left to be lost and unseen,

Never does the sunshine,

Never does it rise,

There is never any warmth,

To dry my swollen eyes,

Theres just a silent black hole,

That sits aloft,

Watching murder, rape

And innocent people get shot,

But me, I am right here,

Here in this cave,

While I sit here and wonder

Is today my day?
