I have been at Delphi today
To hear Cassandra say
Words so soft
In truth's sheen
I have held aloft
The weighty waft,
Bearing visions she had seen
In cavern's glow
A truth so keen
A truth so obscene
We demanded that she go,
And gouged her eyes
She left us, laid low
Yet now we sow
The seeds of our demise
A harvest for which we'll pay
Our fear in guise
Our arrogant cries
It was truth we meant to slay
But with Cassandra's sight doffed
We shoulder the cost
And so keep fate at bay
for one more day
we were no longer clean
Her vision, already seen
The words have nowhere to go
So her words we will despise
This is simply the price we must pay
Safety is when truth
Is treated as lies
