Doll Face

You look sooooo cute and

You look wasted, laying in the corner

Wrung out, as if a giant fist has squeezed your body

Arms and legs in askence, subtly pleading 'okay, whatever'

And I've had you since you were fresh

Factory floor fresh

Not a smudgemark or a stitch undone

Everything you were was perfect, but now you are better

Now you are more real, now that you have touched reality

And you have me to thank for that

Never forget, I am your true master

Oh yeaaaaaah, you were made, but you dont know that

You're still only a child, so listen little mister

I dressed you, I fed you, I slept not at all

When you were sick, when you cried "I'm afraid of dying!"

I WAS afraid of losing you, but now you have truly lost

And I cant tell you, this pleases me, ooooooooooh how it does

I'm the one you should thank, I took everything from you

And I will endlessly tax you until I decide you can die..

But you ARE adorable, little black shiny shoes, little buckles

I use this language because I care, I want you to see how it

IS

There are countless like me, but you are mine, you....shhhhhh

Dont cry at that, not yet, you are still too feeble

You will love me, maybe not in words...your soul will FEEL it

I know when you danced in the alleyway with the other dolls

When you croaked like a toad and barked like a mad little dog

When you broke into a running just to make the others run

To FEEL like me, I know you want to be me, and we are the same

I'm just a larger version, the mothership, the home planet to your satellite

Even if, oh god, it should happen, I wont let you disappear

I will cradle you as the traffic dies down, as the town sleeps

As the many hungry and stranded wander down midnight alleys,

I will be HERE

I will be your lightening in the storm, my face glowing like the moon over your mask, over your glassy eyes, over your breath which moves as I breathe

I will speak into you, embrace your neck, I will talk for you

I will wash your mouth and forehead, I didn't suffocate you

I did not, I granted you immortality, in the long horizon,

you can speak now, you can dance forever

my little one
