Green Eyes Smile...

Folder:
Love

The Sun bright,

the Moon high,

wanton nights under restless skies.

A lover's kiss,

before the lunar child,

and in the moonlight,

your Green Eyes Smile.

November snows,

and April rains,

with Springs new love,

comes it's joys and pains.

But I weather the stings,

and suffer life's trials,

for the love that you bring,

as your Green Eyes Smile.

The emerald windows,

that display your soul,

are so much more,

than the mere kiss of a rose.

They're sanctuary,

from the weary miles,

tread underfoot just

to see your Green Eyes Smile.

One man's desire.

Or simple prose?

Is this dreaming?

Only one heart knows.

Somewhere love is waiting,

both new and young,

and a heart prepares,

as it beats its drum.

For the love supreme,

for the traveled miles,

for the heart's found comfort,

in your Green Eyes Smile.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Always inspired by beauty, I met someone recently with the most beautiful green eyes I've ever seen. She inspired this poem on that alone. I took a bit of artistic license in putting the "longing love" spin on this piece.
