What if one day?

Imagine waking up

and me not being there;

knowing that when you fell

asleep you were completely aware

of my presence, of me.

Waking up with only memories

of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been,

crying is unstoppable and with

tears, one can't quite begin

to describe your fears.

The thought of not seeing

you again, not seeing you walk,

your eyes, your touch;

To not be able to talk

to you, like we used to.

Only to wake up

and realize its true,

what could have been, is not to be

spending my life with you.

Man. . .I don't want to ever wonder about "what if." This poem is one that can inspire thought as to what would happen if two people in love eventually lost one another, at least that's what it did to me. Very good poem!
