Cotton Went A Carton

You entered my life, stiff and fresh.

There were days when you just...

hung out, lounged or cuddled in a corner.

I remember the days when we would;

Run through the pastures or stroll

the city sidewalks.

We were inseparable.

We were like best friends.

You would hold my treasures,my secrets

and protect them as your own.

It was always you and me.

The day came when we parted.

We had been together for a long, long time.

Days I left you home,I felt naked.

Well my friend you are gone now.

We will never romp together again.

You became so weak and fragile,

I didn't have the heart to just toss you.

I packed you neatly in a carton

and tucked you carefully away.

Everytime I visit you,I remember

what we shared.

You were my best friend. Trusting and true.

Even till today your shade a faded blue.

Your name by any means,

was just a name. They called you... JEANS.
