Neighbors Visit

I sit at my window

and glance all around.

There are Woodpeckers,

Robins,& Cardinals abound.

Doves, Wrens, Jays

& Blackbirds scavenging

on the ground.

The possum family & nightime

hunters are hidden for the day.

At night they'll come out

hunting their prey.

Mr Squirrel has scurried

down the tree; knocking on

the screen to see only me.

Good morning kind sir,

I have nuts for thee

carefully placed on the

path below, the path

the squirrel chooses to go.

He gathers his nuts

for wintertime.

Runs back and forth

to his nest, storing

one nut at a time.

The lake is quiet,

the fish asleep,

The gators nestle

shallow and deep.

To my many friends

who come to visit rarely.

I may not have mentioned

you now.

Please forgive me,

for next time, I most

certainly will

somehow.

Yet another unexpected piece....didnt quite realise the 'neighbours' were the big and small creatures. Smilesz. hhmmmm..perhaps, your rhyming scheme can be a little more obvious , if u want it that way. But then again, IF you deliberately want it this way, it's ok too. ;) Thanxs for the invitation, Linda.
