ONCE UPON A THOUGHT AGO...

Folder:
"Love Lost"

Once upon a thought ago,

Love existed in the realm of my possession

Never jealous;

non-contested; yet so subjected,

but I guess over protected...

And now I'm left love-less; less

of a life consisting of happiness...

And I object!

On the grounds that my heart has been founded by heart-break

and hard times...

of a crime that never fitted the punishment...

And now Love blows kisses in the wind,

and I'm fighting to catch them...

with my hands tied behind the back of a lost memory...

Once upon a thought ago...

I was truly happy

Once upon a thought ago,

I met happiness along a side walk

talking to herself...

She was singing the blues in a hip hop, jazzy instrumental -

something about how her Ex didn't deserve her...

But she was interupted by a heart beat that sounded of marching bands, and...

Somewhere in a future that never came

my collaboration reminded her of a remix to her past...

And our song lasted as long as the chorus...

And now Love hum tunes in a wind that only blows

in my deaf ear...

If only I could remember to forget...

But then, I guess I wouldn't be here...

on this very page

Once upon a thought ago,

I was the age Love required to love...

Once upon a thought ago,

I met Love along a sidewalk...

talking to herself -

singing the blues in a hip hop, jazzy instrumental...

I listened closely without interuption...

It was not only I,

But Love,

who didn't deserve her

Tha Prodigal One...

Author's Notes/Comments:

Sometimes, so much pressure is placed on the minds and hearts of men to love a woman so immaculately, that in the end it is proven that not even
"Love" itself deserves her, according to her standards.

Amazing. The flow of that was wonderful, the message was important, and it came full circle. Thank you for writing beautifully; it's refreshing.
