the man I never knew
knew me so well
he actually taught me
to know myself

he felt the same feelings
years before me
and I just walked
right through his words
before even reading them...

and when it was time to thank him
he was taken away
to a place unknown

(by those who chose
not to understand
his genius)

but I am content knowing
he is there before me
taking notes

if only his words
would fall before me
I could walk
right through them
once again
on my final day
