Walled Away

Folder:
June 2004 Poetry

Walled away is my heart,

protecting it form the evil outside,

so it shall be pure,

when you return to me and claim it.

Walled away are my feelings,

I trap them,

so they may not be expressed,

toward any other man,

for then they would not be true.

Walled away is my soul,

I'd rather it be kept hidden,

then flying free,

as to not damage it's fragile nature.

Walled away is me,

where no harm can be done,

waiting on love... I sit,

till the day you return,

and if you don't,

I'd rather be kept walled away,

then out there in the world,

only to be hurt.
