Speaking In Whispers

July 2002 Poetry

Speaking in whispers.

Gently blowing into your ear.

Words flow softly,

from my lips.

Speaking in whispers.

Romantic.

Passionate.

Lovingly,

speaking in whispers.

The language of,

our love.

Whispers.

This is one of my favs by you. The last three lines are excellent. They share a rhythmn dissimilar to those above, but repeat the content of the preceding verses. That kind of contrast is a good device that not many can use well. However, you give an excellent ending to a good poem in a way that's not trite, a bit of a rarity in modern love poems. Good job.
