Crumbling Sand

Folder:
2001 Poetry

Here is their story...

~

Ocean waves,

crashing against a wall of crumbling sand.

Smooth seashells,

line the beaches.

It's a perfect day,

not too hot.

Not too cold.

Perfect.

~

Two pairs of footprints,

tell a story of the last lovers,

to walk along these shores,

before us.

But the waves will soon come,

and wash away these footprints,

until they return,

to re-tell their story.

Maybe they will be the next,

to see our story.

As we walk hand in hand,

along the waterfront.

No matter how many times,

these ocean waves crash,

against this wall.

The sand will never crumble.

Our love will never die.

And that,

is our story.
