It started with a promise,

and then it turned to lies,

I knew you no longer loved me,

as I stared deep into your eyes.

I felt no more affection,

for the loving warmth of your hands,

that now seem so cold,

I feel alone in these lands.

~

I no longer feel that safety in your arms,

when you used to hold me tight,

beneath the stars above,

and you would hold me there all night.

~

Your eyes are dark and dreary,

one of the many shades of gray.

Like the color of the storm clouds above us,

from me you drift away.

~

I long to taste your sweet kiss,

my body next to yours,

but I know I'll never feel that,

as you walk out of these doors.

~

You know I'll always love you,

you'll always be on my mind.

But why did you have to do this?

why did you leave me behind?
