Return

It is nearly again the day when,

I was brought into this world,

But again I can only hope,

What will surely unfurl.

Yet I shall wish for peace and grace,

And enviroment be a sanctified place,

Though not all do find that this is so,

So a prayer to them will also go.

I came to this world like a refugee,

Deserted by origins of family,

And still wonder of their life,

And give thanks for the living gift prescribed.

Now thanks to my family that took me in,

And loved me from babe to a full grown man,

I have hope and faith in mankind and place,

And am glad to part of the Human-race.

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's been a winding woad but it is most interesting and perhaps a bit of a calling in retrospect.

This poem certainly expresses the thoughts of someone who is at peace with himself. It is clear that you have come full circle with your life. This is a gift that everyone is given but so few will ever see that the treasures of the human spirit & love are always there. We just need to know how to open our eyes. You have obviously done just that. Well done. Amy

Love the reflections in this piece Richard and I can feel the maturity of your emotions in the verses. Thank God there are those people out there that keep our faith in our fellow man alive... well written!

People don't run out of dreams they just run out of time.

Experience is what makes us more wise, Rich :) I find solace in knowing that there are so many people out there that have come so far on very little more than love & faith. Many of the neatest and most interesting people that I know and love come from troubled or less-then-easy circumstances. I enjoyed this poem very much. A testament to your person and your optimism! Keep on~!
