Remember What’s Important

Young Girl In The Rain

Memories flushed
from the back of my mind.
Innocent as a Monday morning,
washed clean in a spring rain.

Sometimes all it takes
is a picture of a child,
under vanilla dripped skies.
Without a worry,
expressing sugary thoughts
of playful childish journey.

Who
is one
to ignore
such simple joy,
smooth as polished glass
without adult burden
hindering their amazement.
Shouldn’t we all strive to become
more fully tuned with our surroundings,
living our short lives to the endth degree.

Simple joys of the human flesh,
like lying naked on warm sand.
It is a must to start afresh,
keeping our lives from getting bland.
Go out….. do what you think is banned,
enjoying what gifts have been offered.
I am sure you will find them grand,
relish them to be devoured.

Chiseled steel
must be softened,
allow your
child to flourish.
Grab the rain,
holding it close,
dance in the puddles of life.
