Dreamcatcher

Dangling above the bed
Red and white in its web.
Every weave made with purpose,
Allowing one to sleep without cause.
Many hang this Chippewa creation
Creatively within their homes.
Able to let the good dreams pass
Through while catching the bad,
Creating safety in their nightly respite.
Holding them there to keep the dreamer safe.
Everyone does not believe in its power,
Rightly or wrongly letting chance override.
