The Mirror

Folder:
2005 Poetry

I looked deep in the mirror,

seeing the reflection of my life.

Years wasted on empty pursuits,

time circled quickly down the drain.

Now my heart is cold and empty,

no one to share my remaining days.

This face in the wall looking back,

is all I have to share this sorrow.

Drops on the silver glass of life,

burning with regrets as they fall.

I stand there the old fool that I am,

all alone as the mirror cries.
