On Your Own

It's been a long day

Two people make one

Split personality

Your the decency

But the edge has left for PA

What are you to do

Where are you to stay

Whose job is it to say

That you'll be in control

Of your life today

The split personality parts

Goes their separate ways

Only if it is for

A week and a few days

You can see my feelings

And you can make the choice

You can go with what

I hope you really feel

Instead of listening

To that second voice

I care for the side

Of your personality that's you

That shows compassion

Yet knows how to be true

Yeah, the edge gives a nice look,

That I wouldn't disagree

But the way it persuades you

It changes your mind and confuses me

So now it's up to you

For this short while

To do the right thing

You're given a step, take a mile

Come along with me

To where you need to be

Your mind's set free

For you to be you

And for you to love me

Don't end up being a silouhette

Of the personality that can't react

To true love and what it really means

Who's just a player who plays

By any means

I know your not like that

I've seen your side of decency

Now I pray that this side wins

Can act over the edge

And can think about

And come back

To what belongs to you...

And that's me
