Hot for Hot Dogs!

Hot for Hot Dogs!

Hot dogs are good

They are delicious

Some say they’re unhealthy

But I think they’re nutritious

They have important food groups

Like meat, ketchup and bread

They will satisfy your hunger

Up until you’re dead

You can by them in restaurants

And get them on the street

You can buy them with soft drinks

What can be more complete?

Some say their ingredients are dirty

But nothing can be cleaner

You may prefer rice with your meal

But I prefer a wiener

You can also have them with relish

And/or onions, cheese and mustard

Death row convicts request them for their last meal

And it was the same for General Custard

You can eat hot dogs for energy

You can eat them if you’re young or old

You can eat them when you’re healthy

Or when you have a cold

They are easy to cook

You can boil them or have them fried

You can eat them for every meal

Believe me I have tried

If I had a choice

I’d eat a hot dog every day

If it fell on the floor

Well, I’d eat it anyway

I’d bring hot dogs to parties

I’ll serve them at my wedding

That will make me happy

No matter what gifts we’ll be getting

Hot dogs are great food

You might think me insane

But that’s why God made cows, pigs and chickens

And why man harvests grain

Jesus made many parables

The parable of the mustard seed was one

To illustrate the importance of mustard

And that it should be put in a hot dog bun

So eat hot dogs all the time

Eat them until you’re full

You will get your share of protein

And ketchup is a vegetable

And no one sells expensive hot dogs

This fact makes me think deep

Perhaps I love to eat hot dogs

Because they’re very cheap!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Like my Bananas over Bananas poem, I thought this title Hot for Hot Dogs would make a good enough sequal, and I had to give it some thought about what I'd say, it didn't come as natural. I do like an occassional hot dog but now that I'm watching what I eat I don't eat them as much
