STAND TALL AND DELIVER

STAND TALL AND DELIVER

Yet another day! The same old place and the usual sight. My mind that was restless, nevertheless settled down and there was utter quietness. What I couldn’t see with my eyes till then, my mind could spot at a distance.  I gained confidence and could ponder over anything even if there was nothing to think about!  I thought, it was the right time to derive something out of it.  I just shrugged of my laziness and craned my neck to penetrate the vast expanse.  There, over there, I could feel my eyes getting stuck somewhere.  They just refused to go beyond that particular point and merged with my mind!  Like a hungry cow grazing in the neighboring garden, I found something for my eyes; and my mind could hurriedly graze over a place that once bore the brunt of the sand smugglers’ and brick layers’ attack.

The prolonged summer with no respite from the Sun, made the scorched land look like molten lead. No place was spared except that one!  For quite some time I refused to sit there and watch the usual place as it had been destroyed and wore a deserted look. I was wondering, what on Earth had made that place, appear a little better than the rest of the places with all its ever-growing greenery around!  Most of the ponds and rivers in that area had gone dry and the birds had already taken evasive actions to leave every possible water beds except that place. The only place that remained alive eluding the fiery Sun was that pond and the place around.  When my eyes caught it from a distance, I could see a few storks circling around and my mind asked myself a question. How could that place keep itself alive despite the destruction done to it by the scorching Sun and the greedy men?

Something dawned in my mind and I thought I could look back a bit!  A year and a half back, earthmovers came down and dug it deep taking out the sand and silt despite objections from the people around.  But the objection of the people was not paid heed to.  The trees that surrounded the pond giving shelter to the birds and squirrels and adding beauty to the pond disappeared in no time.  There was chaos when the locals tried to stop the destruction done to the water source and the neighborhood.

Yet the improbable happened!  The pond that had lost its glorious days of the past got its life back because of a blessing in disguise.  How could it be and, how could it come back to life?  That’s the question.

I just remembered the pelting rain in the hot summer on that day which lasted for just a little over an hour.  Nothing more!  Yet, all the rivulets around could gather the precious water and guide them into the pond wasting nothing! As the pond now, was deep enough it could hold enough water and brimmed over!  Blades of grass began to appear and seeds began to sprout!  Lotus smiled with its brightly colored flowers inviting everyone to come by its side. Birds circled and began to settle down enjoying the cool breeze.  People, who cursed the destroyers, began to say that it was a blessing in disguise!  Nevertheless, the pond made use of the right time to come alive using the right opportunity.

People might dig you up and tear you to shreds.  Instead of whining and waning just wait for the right time to ripe; then you will find a new life in yourself as well as good people around to enjoy life with you!

At times of distress, if you stand up to the situation and bear with what’s done to you, you will survive.  Instead, if you think that you have been done with; you are gone. Losing heart and destroying yourself is committing suicide! Giving up is your weakness! Better hope for the best and believe that there is always a chance for survival.  Just try to tide over the situation without losing heart.  Don’t get depressed as it might tempt you to destroy yourself.

Standing tall at the time of adversity makes you survive but losing heart will make you lose yourself!

Stand tall and deliver!
