LIFE GOES ON AND ON!

Life goes on, goes on and on;

Heading towards an undisclosed destiny;

Endless, though it looks, but ends up abruptly;

When destiny transforms and wears a deserted look!

Seems so transient, but goes lightening fast;

As years trickle, the strength decimates;

The wearied limbs crumble as old-age takes over;

Left to die yelling and sulking; you’re heard no more!

Unwanted though and a spent force to core,

The hollowed eyes gleam and look for the last straw!

Longing to hear some soothing words, as you look up;

The ‘dear and near’ finds no time to spare!

Hopelessly lost and out of place you feel;

When you look up at good heavens, life calls it a day!

Oh, Man!  Though you have hung up your boots,

No doubt you have created a fair chance for others to move.

The ‘way’ you’ve laid; others can effortlessly walk on;

The high morale you’ve set; others can emulate;

The good values and virtues you’ve left; others can adore;

Yet, you’d not be there to reap what you’ve sown!

Man!  You are your master; let no one teach you;

Feed your kids with goodness and fairness;

Let truthfulness and kindness stand them in good stead;

But, enforce them not, as it’s against their free-choice!

You’ve nothing to worry about for you’ve done your colors!

Once in a life time you got to prove your metal; Oh, dear!

What you’ve done; you can be genuinely proud of!

Without worrying, how much others have to brag of!
