Last Dance



Have you ever wondered how we got here?

Two people succumbing to fear

Of going on without each other

When we always thought

We would be together,

forever.



We have ridden down the same road

Braved the heat and the cold

Now we sit here saying our good-byes,

With tears in each other's eyes.



The drinks are on the table

The final scene set

Our moment has come,

And right or wrong

The band is playing our song.



May I have this last dance,

In forever's romance?



May I hold you in my arms once more

Feel your soft breath

Against my skin

Just like we always have before,

Once again?



I know I'm remembering the past

All I want is one more memory to last.



I will hold you

Out on the dance floor

With the lights way down low,

And then let you go.

I will look into your eyes

And you will know,

I'm saying good-bye.
