UNDER A MANGO TREE

Folder:
2004 Poetry

the wind was carefree

leaves didn’t move much

as it did the other day

dusts dance to the tune

of footsteps from a proverbial

figure coming near

you smiled at me with your usual

familiar smile, your eyes like a

diamond star glued to mine

intently conveying its meaning

sandwiched between zest and chill

I tried to sift those sweet smiles

that’s dissolving me quick

and before I knew it

your cloud-like lips ushered me

to eternal bliss and the leaves

started to move afresh
