AFTER SUNRISE

Moon dawdling closely,

sputtering beams on the

sequins of the sea's sarong.

Slowly the sun plummets inward

and on the far bank are eyes

watching in total awe

this fervent moment as they contact.

Soon nightfall shall swathe the earth

whilst, I sniff the fascinating myrrh
