PLEASE MY LORD

there is this physical gap

stuck between me and my love

the kind I see is hard to crack

if only I could command the

wind to carry my mutters of

ardent love; then perhaps,

I wouldn’t have to suffer

these wakeful dusks

my Love is in wager for a

better tomorrow in the Far,

desolate Middle East

just today I ushered him to

the airport, i never expected

this would be this heartrending

but i contained myself from crying

Please my Lord

lend him Your eyes

when the road seems blur

lend him Your ears

when a murmur can't be heard

lend him Your maw

that he may speak only benign terms

lend him Your hand

that he may hold his faith

when he’s up the creek

and losing his grip

Please my Lord

shield my LAP there

as you shield us here

only You can give him all these

All poems are prayers
and this is a beautiful
one.
