VARYING FAITH

Folder:
2001 Poetry

what is it in your belief

that sets the rest to feel unrest?

what is it in your faith

that makes the globe to separate?

what is it in your mind

that makes you think others are unkind?

what is it in you eyes?

that makes me want to cry

have you been to paradise?

have you tried to be nice?

eyes could be very deceiving

it sees only the exterior meaning

leaving the character in the sludge

fated to be snubbed and disparaged

if we have different points of view

if we have different ways to lionize

if we have different things in mind

why do you have to go against mine?

what difference would it make

to bicker to a different race?

but to gain a nemesis instead of a comrade

isn't it that judgement is for God

then leave that job to our God

religions are supposed to bridge the gap

and not to widen nor prolong the scrap

Great poem Lola,
I especially love the
final couplet:
"religions are supposed to bridge the gap
and not to widen nor prolong the scrap."
I agree.
