MANY A SAVAGE ETERNITY

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

from my very being
a fountain of love flows
held hostage
by its actual meaning
with this pen
its actual construct
I shall try to compose
time pillages in its passage
life wears love thin
in its wake
to tatters these coverings
we label as our emotional clothes
memories of what once was
contort into being what can actually
now be
disillusionment in distorted reflection
between beings painfully growing into
just whom they were meant to be
love hurts as it is ever growing
and or fading
depending on the path of one's circumstance
taking on the shape of its many painful prodigy
Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. nailed
such shingle high on his door proudest
'Always The Truth Shall Set You Free'
Alice's looking glass alas revealed
I see you more clearly now through all that
sweet pain of love's tender most growing
the man I hoped yet sometimes feared you may
never come to be
he who I feel I've longed for 'Many A Savage Eternity'
that one particular teacher/lover/soul
who's always been out there searching, waiting, and wondering
just as long and as faithfully for me
in this poem's blessing
I see the rounding out of perfection
in all my prior imperfection's endured
and looking back
I wouldn't have lived this life any other way...................

inspired by a lovely dream I had which woke me from a sound sleep and I sat up and jotted this down on a note pad..............
