lost to the centuries
layers of ancient stories
unravel themselves
to be repeatedly told
branches broken off trees
one might even say
from conversations of old
mysteries gone unstrung
such 'Guitars Of Life'
are mere music made
from at best
broken instruments
yet still
so many continue to try to play
when life's song must be
oh so carefully
conducted
not banged out
by some careless hand
too eager to overcompensate
for the insignificance of his
vessel....................
