TOO BROAD OF A RIVER

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

was musing just this afternoon
what is it you remind me of
perhaps one of many an old Dylan song
the tinny simplicity of your notes
the innocence of your practical desire
maybe the working man way you
approach life
too hard to say
you are 'Too Broad Of A River'
to understand fire
but I'd be a fool not to confess
you are at least a handful of old
Bob Dylan songs
come to life
and I, an old Neil Young lyric
... that keeps me searchin' for a heart of gold
am I gettin' old..................

Author's Notes/Comments:

been thinking over just what I liked about a friend of mine. She is so centered and grounded. Older than her years wiser than her experiences. This sort of came to me after a conversation we had the other day about what makes us who we are.
