TO WISH UPON THE NIGHT SKY

stars align
with scenic design
milky haze
amid celestial gaze
I see Orion's glorious belt
his elbow bent high
and I ponder what target
is his arrow piercing
and by who's love
is his powerful aim felt
and just for a mere moment
his Andromeda am I
laughing now
me, such a foolish woman
standing on her back
patio
in ratty house clothes
losing my thoughts
from my back yard
looking up at such a
glorious guy
thinking
Silly Andromeda
hail your Orion
and he will gladly come
is a nice dream as it is

Author's Notes/Comments:

earlier this morning while it was still dark was overseeing my two elderly dogs' taking care of their morning ablutions and noticed the sky was relatively clear so of course I 'Hunted' for and spotted my Orion by his belt and elbow and this poem arose from those thoughts.
