TO THE DARKNESS

JOURNAL # 41

remember
the sweetest rapture
heard
is bestowed upon the senses
via the ear
proof that life without
the service of such instrument
would be more than merely
a deafening silence
'twould be the very silence
itself stilled
in that same service's death
no more beauty would be heard
but just as so
nor would that same beauty
ever be seen nor felt
death is greedy
it thinks it takes everything
when it goes
though
little does it know
that but for the soul
the most supreme
being of all
very little
'To The Darkness'
is lost.................

Author's Notes/Comments:

This came from a deep spiritual conversation I had with a friend about 2 and a half years ago and I stumbled upon my words from that conversation that I had absently jotted down as we were talking. I even
made a note to myself that what I was saying could make a pretty good poem and when I came upon it I was able to extract from that original thought indeed a poem and this is the poem that formed. Enjoy!
