MY CASTLE IN THE SKY

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

how so sweetly I adore you
you just can't imagine
you speak and my heart
rushes to beat faster
you laugh and a smile
tugs at my lips
life is more everything
just because you happen to
be in it
you are my strength and my
courage
you paint my world a lovelier hue
I am a force to be reckoned with
simply because I know you
how hollow my tears would fall
dripping without purpose
if it were not but for my missing you
you are
'My Castle In The Sky'
but
more real than any reality
before derived
no human hand
can stop this unstoppable
that we are careening towards
lavish will be my attentions
showered upon you
love like you've never known
and only barely imagined
awaits your arrival
an imperfect woman I am
but I can promise you
I will love you more perfectly
than a storm loves a barren
wheat field
for having known me for
however short the duration
you will walk through this life
a better, calmer, more stable man
and some other lucky woman will
get to enjoy the careful construction
by my selfless hand
as I love you so much
that I can let you go when the time comes
that I must do so
we were not meant to be
but in our mutual evolution
for a time we carved out a precious place
just for us to privately
enjoy together
and in your darkest hours you will revisit
that place
and be reminded of the love I gave you
without any expectation on my part
just because I could not help myself
and loving you was the only way
I knew to help you better grow
as a man
as a thinker
as a lover
as a spiritual seeker
as a world citizen
in all these things
you exceeded the bar
and know that it will
not be your fault
when you outgrow this teacher
it just is what it is
be ever at peace
cause love found you
and even more lovingly
set you free
to go on about your life
just as you were meant to do so
with no excuses nor regrets
for the world awaits the imprint
of your very being
and I too can be content
in knowing that I was
a small part of that...............

Author's Notes/Comments:

My sister gave me one of those cheesy thin Harlequin romance novels and I read it it was called Demon's Lair, or Devil's Lair or some silly such anyway it was about an older woman and a younger man and all the misunderstandings they went through to be together. It was better than I imagined such a book would be and I ended up doing what I've always done when I am affected by something I end up putting myself in the leading lady's role and since I am a woman of a certain age and the man in the book was in his early 30's I fit the part so I took on the persona of her poignant feelings for this what she thought was a totally unattainable man and I wrote vicariously a love poem to him in her voice but with my words. I was very pleased with how charged with feeling and pure it was when it was completed. I hope you enjoy the read............ as I enjoyed the writing of it.
