FEARLESS SUNRISE

'Fearless Sunrise'
how you so brightly
tip sway across my
drunken eyes' sky
every imaginable dawn
you do not fail to disappoint
you are tirelessly there
to greet me when I awake
and sometimes even when
I drop to sleep
with your generous rays
you supply
my vitamin D security
a romantic am I
some would snicker to say
but still all around me
you stand by
greeting me with your
ever beautiful
unflinching presence
for you are to this world
the flashlight of God................

Author's Notes/Comments:

was recalling a crisp early morning this past Sunday when I watched the sun rise and was thinking about how so very many sunrises over the years from so many different places in the world I have seen and never tired of it. How so many people, miss all of them and never give any of them a second thought. I though, many times have taken the time to stop and admire that supreme beauty of seeing that giant orange fire ball slowly get up and greet me with its light and eye catching colors. I think because for the briefest of moments at those times my soul has an inkling of a reminder of all the bright glorious colors it misses from heaven and knowing that without the sunlight we would not have any life nor color or beauty. Those too I'm sure are mitigating factors and this poem was born of all those thoughts.
