SUNRISE IN PARADISE

Folder:
JOURNAL # 40

just how do I describe you
without giving away your
breathless inner beauty
how does one proudly
display a unique diamond
without revealing its luster
too freely to the greedy world
do you suppose monuments
can be built
without some memorable story
behind the construction of
their great gaping girth
I wonder to you what I am
a 'Sunrise In Paradise'
perhaps
or just a whispered about
tiny, little lover's kiss
if hell were to be fleeting
I dare say I would gladly
walk through it
just to by pass
going through all of this
I am a little boat in a rough
rip tide
and you are the kindest shore line
who's harbor I could pray no harder
to find
much too cautious are my steps
now
for without your selfless support
I could drop to my wobbly knees
and die at your bolted door
but I know you
dearest, gentlest heart that you are
you'd still open it for me
you would not leave me sick, lost
and alone
you'd save me from this life's bitter sea
cause in your great strength's gentleness
even my damaged love for you
would atone
and though you wholly deserve
the moon, the stars and the sea
I know in exchange you'd gladly accept
the ever so fallible likes of me
cause that is your innate goodness
coming to serve the world once again
by kicking such injured truth in the knee
damning the rest of them all back to where
they began
for no matter what, your love always
speaks so highly of me
and in your brave warrior thug's heart
that could never be a sin....................

Author's Notes/Comments:

written for someone very, very special who has always been there for me to pick me up, dust and brush me off and set me right and tell me no matter what I'm worth something spectacular. I've always felt that from this person so thank you cause I know if I ever needed a body guard even in Hell itself, you'd be the first person to volunteer as you are that devoted to me..................
