ME, MY FINEST CHAMPION **

Folder:
JOURNAL # 40

even in my
abject lowness
though torches snicker
I am fine the way i am
'Me, My Finest Champion'
for I always have me
to stand up for myself
and ferociously defend
from no others candle
will my light flicker
as there lives in this world
no greater protector of me
than that of my empowered
self
I realize this now
before I was only one small
book on denial's shelf
my kind will not be swayed
by riches or threats
or mere emptiness conveyed
while in my own arms
I am forever held
and I am enough
no matter what others say
and if I delve deep below
my smiling bravado's bluff
my inner peace will
rise up in me
to serenade
my foolishly broken
guileless heart
away from yesterday
so it truly matters not
how so very low I feel
for every fiber of my being
is love personified
I radiate life
see the good in others
who find themselves
repeatedly denied
and indubitably
I am real......................
