MY POETIC THANK YOU (RED MAN'S REPLY ' A SUBTLE CARESS')

my poetic thank you

ah but true pleasure is a painting
that we must stand so to best take in
twas a fine restoration we made
so with an ear to a dove I listen
for the rustle of your approach in the far off wind

his reply to this off the cuff poem of mine
in of all things an off line!

ah
a poetry wits match
such the wind knows its place
in the fact that
this raven word raider
is indeed good just for that
sweet be the scheme of nature
its words are heard by those who listen closely
to its message
it tells the dove
the dove knows its telling
so it flies to its next place
why for it really does not know
but it suspects things have changed
for the dove is the image of the soul
it felt the power of that breeze
or perhaps it gave
the sweet fair maiden a kiss
and its power warmed the wind
to that of
'A Subtle Caress'
just such as this.......................

long ago chat pal Red man

Author's Notes/Comments:

I found this in my old drafts in my email. Was a flimsy sort of off line poem I had sent to a fellow poet years ago back in 2004 the draft date says. He replied back to it in a poetic manner so I decided to post it on here. He had many mistakes so I cleaned up the misspellings and bad grammar but this was the gist of both our little dabbling in poetry. I thought I would share. As you can see his reply was much better than my little poem.

(note to self; this poem came from Journal #38)
