simple incongruences  slay the markers of time

beating down the advantages of man

in the wake of fast growing crime

business battles over money and power

send greed skyrocketing to the top

when credit came to be the higher ups

thought maybe this would stop

but not so to the little man

standing way far beneath society's latter

due to the escalation of the numerous

forms of fraud less and less this same

little man seems to matter

so he pays for the injustices done to him

by the thieves and cons throughout the gun

laden streets

and gets shoved farther into poverty as the

ends he tries to make somehow do not seem

to meet

and sometimes while deep in despair

he crosses over

buys himself a gun to help get himself somewhere

out of poverty and unimportance

he wishes to go

so he knocks off a convenience store

accidentally kills the clerk

gets caught and ends up on death row

is life fair to the underprivileged

maybe not

but in this instant

perhaps so..........................
