the French are said to have a clearly

understated charm

though, often they're more than merely

romantic gestures are put under the

finest scrutiny

where they are meant to only disarm

so who better than an out of date,

at ease romance king could set one's

wildest fears to rest

their absolute passion for the game

so to speak is positively fierce

but their intentions towards the calm

and committed are only that of jest

and greatly so

may I be so brash to add

as there is more than one face to each

emotion

there is also a certain amount of time

allotted to every fad

not that these words are meant to make

any one group of people seem over all

shallow

but, that man's universal personality

and appeal is as complex as it is fallow

appealing though that the numbers are

that seem to commonly accumulate

perhaps the world judges the material

stability of the French a little too

harshly when its very own statistics

state that divorce carries a guaranteed

fifty/fifty marginal rate

and from those very statistics what can

even one newly married young couple draw

other than a breath of minimal doubt

as well as a forlorn sigh of 'Oh boy!,

Just Great!'

in a time where problems are many and

their possible solutions very small

We shouldn't downgrade one people's

choice of the road they each choose to

take on the highly over regarded

assumption that their final decision is

ours to criticize and somehow remake

such rudeness should never be tolerated

especially in one's own self...........
