with eyes that saw so clearly

and caressed my trembling flesh

with equal degrees of frank intensity

he was

in a word

superb

lover

educator

mentor

prankster

liberator

guide

and always of course

friend

for that was his specialty

he was

the one true catalyst of all my

life's dearest prosperity

to the point

that even still today

I anguish over the loss

yet dwell in the naked wonder

do I ever cross his mind

in fondness

with even a modicum of any real

regret

I simply do not know

but I can revel in my own

wishful suspicions

can't I

you bet ya

I can

and quite often do............
