THE WOUND

JOURNAL#10

if the need should fall only to then level and rise

I will not falter nor even once stumble over such

sad surprise

memories collect mental dust like over aged trinkets

too long neglected

the Phoenix as its commonly known does not die for

very long before he is then resurrected

too bad there is no secure place to send such

unnecessary nonsense quietly away to

there surely must be though for one to fly

where the too crazed cuckoo himself before

only alone once flew

years upon years of artificial anger greet me

at love's open but disillusioned door

trampling aggravated pride as it walks in and throws

what little self esteem I have left roughly to the floor

leaving me to blindly bleed only just now all over

and down the walls and chilly chambers of your

ever so very tender young heart

its a cruel chain reaction this cat and mouse game

of love like love we play from childhood

at its very start

the important lessons we learn though

teach havoc a new way to pass off yet another

insecure parlor like trick

for even the most wounded of all animals

that of the too human heart

will never heal without the swipe

of one loving tongue's lick.............

Author's Notes/Comments:

being far too young emotionally to maneuver successfully through the murky waters of a relationship and finding myself doomed to drown in the fog of what I don't know or was too young to see.
