by way of an avenue

before not taken

through slim facts spoken

courage came to rain in

a gathering place in

a pretty water hole fashion

the invitation was

a gentle reminder

that talent can

magnify not just in

any pen

alike attracts alike

word smiths arrive

and revere

such opportunity to

revel, regale, display

and share

the beauty of

their creative minds

the hopes of their

half shelved hearts

and the joys

of the soul that

ever streams through

its knowledge given

to help reimburse

so my new poetic collage

of friends here at

Writer's House

as you welcome me

I welcome you

in this plain spoken
