once upon a terrible time

there lived a mean and meticulous man

who believed in 'Works Of No Rhyme'

and once during his nastiest of negotiations he came

up with a primitive plot full plan

he would single handedly stamp out all poetic muse

as Hitler tried with the full blown annihilation of

the Germanic Jews

but I am most happy to inform you that he invariably

failed

and then as well

all yet to be written poetic works prevailed

and into the sunset of many a reader's request

poetry took to the pages and sailed

that is until illiteracy in droves upon our happy

parade houndishly hailed

making me realize that as surely as we hung that man

we too will swing from the same rope

so learn to read

and read more and more and never stop

for no one should ever be forced to follow the

example of a dictatorial dope............
