BEFORE THE LION'S ROAR

Folder:
JOURNAL #6

it wasn't fright that sent me sailing down those steps

and into that welcoming wall

it was more the unbelievable beauty of your all knowing

eyes staring into my soul

at least that's all I clearly now recall but maybe it

wasn't even that at all

the naked bravery spent to save my ungrateful hide

after my unexpected fall

surely such speed and courage

yet uncaring concern of self harm in aid of another's

plight should be given some suitable award

but what?

they, the bastards

wanted to give you the chair or the hangman's chord

all because you saved the neck of an empty headed

stupid girl

who found herself suddenly alone and unblessedly

bored

don't they know that if this were the early 1700's

you would now be considered my lord

oh but if only you knew how to swing a sword

then you could show them that one should never move

after

the lion has roared..................
