THE SUN GRABBER

some truly believe we poets are all flakes

I hope that statement isn't wholely true for all

our saint less sakes

lazy, carefree days for poets are so very rare

we have much to think and write about

war, peace, hunger, death, love and despair

just because I'm female does not necessarily mean

I only worry about tomorrow what I'm going to wear

I'm much deeper than that

more opinionated yet still humorous and fair

some would question how I can question and write such

point full poems while still living in a time of so

much unrest

I would answer the worst placed upon people

often brings out their very best

even evil has some good use

like for instance it shows man all in the end he

stands to lose

sometimes an idea flies harshly into my head

and I can't placate and push it out

just because I'm nearly 24 and not wed that's no

real reason to pout

I'd like to believe I'm in control and the most

qualified person to pen the rules

and I sincerely believe that J.F.K. himself would have made quite an advocate for my creative cause

but I must admit making that statement while standing

alone takes a lot of guts yet even more balls

the means I use to get my points across, many it

appalls

how far short of the truth does dissatisfaction fall
